The Biblical Wilderness...by Sade'

A wilderness is often thought of as a barren wasteland, uninhabited, and perhaps even uninhabitable. The two original words of The Bible that have been translated as wilderness are theHebrew word of the Old Testament pronounced mid-bawr, and the Greek word of the New Testament pronounced er-ay-mos. While both words are sometimes used to mean a desolate wasteland, they are also used to describe a very good place to pasture sheep - whether actual sheep, or God's "sheep."

God isn't spontaneous. Each and everything that he does, that he has his hand in, is deliberate. In that case, it is no mystery that each and every one of us on this earth has a purpose to fulfill.

Are we listening to what the Lord wants from us? Are we truly looking to be about His business or are we more concerned about minding our own business?

Today I want to challenge you all to ask the Lord God what it is the HE wants from you, instead of what you would like him to do for you. Ask him to continue to direct your path, and to guide you and continue to mold you. Ask him to help you see your inefficiencies that are keeping you from reaching you full potential. Ask him to remove fear, all obstacles and stumbling blocks, that keep you from moving up the mountain.

Do you see the peaks and valleys in life as good and bad times? I challenge you took look at it differently this week. One of my favorite artists, Lauryn Hill, suggested the the ups and downs, peaks and valleys, do not have to be seen as the good and bad times in your life.

Lauryn Hill speaks

Instead, she suggested that the Lord wants us to learn and master as much as we can while on this side of life. The peaks and valleys in your life represent a time of learning (the valley) and a time of mastership (the peak). You are climbing the mountain to get to mastership of different learning experiences. Instead of being so consumed with staying on top of the mountain, look forward to the decline...God is taking you on another journey to mastership. Doesn't that sound like a more merciful, loving, caring, sweet God? He is. He has OUR best in mind.

The wilderness, the valley, is a good time, and a good place for you!

I'm learning, once we change the way we see God, we will truly be able to change the way we look at ourselves. Once we remove this idea of him being a stern and hard God, we will understand that it is not his will for us to be walking around with our heads held low, holding on to fear, wearing guilt like a mask and letting our valleys in life keep us depressed!

For Ecclesiastes 3:10-12 says:
10I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.

11He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
12I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life
And the New International Version translates:

10 I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet[a] no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live.

In Gods eyes, you are and you have a purpose. You are amazing. You are his greatest creation. Lets start walking and talking as such.

As always, I love you all!
